Search Engine Optimisation Case Study

Client:
A niche clothing and accessory retailer with a brick and mortar store as well as an online presence with e-commerce functionality.

Goals:
The client wanted to increase awareness of the online and brick and mortar stores, and increase visitors and sales to the online store.

Problems:
The client's website was not well optimised for search engines, was quite new and did not have much link popularity. Their website was not ranking for any of the keywords we considered important to them.

Resolution:
We addressed issues including conducting an in-depth keyword analysis and applying optimisation based on the results. We cleaned up and optimising the html code, the internal link structure, the copy, a number of usability issues and began a strategic link building campaign.

Results:
We are able to triple the quantity of visitors from search engines within the first 4 months of optimisation. The quality of visitor improved due to ranking for keywords potential customers were using, also increasing online conversion rate.

The client currently ranks in the top 10 positions in Google search results for approximately 32 unique keyword phrases.

The effects were also noticed offline in the brick and mortar store with more potential customers becoming aware of the store and browsing the online catalog before shopping in-store.
